As usual, hubby & I discovered this restaurant by chance whilst searching for a place to eat after work along Upper East Coast Road. Lots of places to eat there we just cant decide what to eat! So cruisin' along with grumbling tummies, we found Porn. Owned by Singapore Mediacorp Artiste Pornsak Prajakwit, the Jamie Oliver of Asia...that's what it says in the web. To be honest, I never heard of him until after I googled him. Porn actually means "blessings & good wishes" in Thai.
So here's what we had...
Thai Coconut Juice
We shared a bowl of Tom Yum Nam Khon or Tom Yum Kung with Coconut Milk.
These lemongrass skewered prawns looks yummy & it does only that the prawns came a bit raw. You can actually see some translucent meat & we only realized after we each ate a piece. Manager was notified, no discount though but he offered us complimentary fruits. Fair enough but I'd rather get a discount. It was an explosion of flavor, spicy, citrus goodness of lime & lemongrass. Almost perfect if only it's been cooked well...I was a bit disappointed. I'm too nice though, I'll give it a second chance.
Stir Fried Minced Pork with Basil & Chillies
I can't remember the name of this Crab dish...it's delish & the sauce is not as rich as looks in the photo. It's actually mildly sweet & tangy & I love the julienned green mango on top as garnish.
Overall food experience was fairly good. I don't mind trying the prawn skewers again hopefully perfectly well done & try other dishes. I heard the Thai Green Curry is good. But hubby was not impressed at all & it may take some serious convincing for him to come back soon.
