Lor Mee for Me

There are only three places I know of that serve the best Lor Mee in Singapore.   One in Bukit Purmei, Tiong Bahru and the other in Tanjong Pagar market.   Among the three, I always go back to Tanjong Pagar (picture shown above) as it's easy to get to.  Located at the middle of Business Financial District in the heart of Tanjong Pagar and two train stops away from where I work.  I would love to go back to Tiong Bahru and Bukit Purmei but since our move to the East its kinda out of the way.

What makes this Lor Mee special (which I only found out as I am writing this post) is that the deep fried fish ball you see on the left hand side of the picture is actually a shark meat ball.  I never knew!   All I know is that I enjoy slurping away this delicious local noodle delight.

I like mine with extra garlic paste and black vinegar.  I always have a mint for afterwards as I don't want people to know that I just had way too much garlic for lunch.  So if you are not a garlic person maybe you ask them to separate the garlic paste that way you can adjust it to your taste.

By the way, the Peanut Ice Kachang there is also worth queueing up for!
